After the massive cliffhanger ending from FF13-2, there's a lot of complaints and unsatisfactory going around.

But, let us not argue on this matter. I'm sure everything has its own beauty and we should appreciate and respect the developer's decision.

Whether or not Final Fantasy 13-3 is going to happen, let's be optimistic on what happens after FF13-2. Just us fans together, united, trying to decipher possible story lines, sharing our fandom for good.

update! on ff13-2 endingsPossible Endings- remember there are nine so far two have been discovered
There are nine possible endings in Final Fantasy XIII-2:
1. After Caius is defeated, Serah, Noel and Mog return to Pulse at 400 AF, where Cocoon rises again. After Serah thanks Noel, she has a vision, then abruptly dies. Noel weeps for her as Hope arrives from Academia to greet them. However, in mourning, the world suddenly goes dark and Mog dies. Noel remembers Caius's warning about Etro to them, previously thought to be a bluff. Cocoon and everything on Pulse begins to emit Chaos as a giant seal opens in the sky. Valhalla appears with a somehow intact Etro's shrine, and a petrified/crystallized Lightning is seen sitting on Etro's throne. The words "To be continued..." are the last screen.
2. After obtaining all paradox endings and 160 Fragments, a secret ending, "A World Without a Goddess," plays after the end credits. It shows Caius sitting on Etro's throne from which he leaves and uses Ragnarok, causing Chaosupdate! on ff13-2 endings by ~lightis101

this ending is a possible one (i'm not so sure)

Final Fantasy 13-3 (Spoilers)The following content may include heavy spoilers from FF13-2, please do not view until you've completed the game or you're just too eager to know.
FF13-2 just ended, with a massive cliffhanger.
Toriyama said DLC will be added to the game, large 'episodes' of DLC but DLC content was also mentioned that it will only be related to story before FF13-2 ending, on the same parallel world.
That will also mean DLC cannot be a substitute for the game ending.
FF13-3 domain is already registered, Square Enix usually deals their domain with another company.
But of course, we cannot be sure about statements made by them, FF13-3 may not happen.
But again, let us be optimistic to learn more about what will happen in FF13-3, deciphering the current story line and messages from the future, feed our fandom and also share wonderful artworks from everyone in deviantArt. As a helpful community, reviewing and discussing matters positively.
So remember, if you're here to whine and smash FF13-3 (Spoilers) 2nd updateI'm actually reading all the available resources around and re-watched the endings, somehow, I missed something big.

The information below contains heavy, HEAVY amount of spoilers, do not view if you hate spoilers for the game!
I researched a lot and aside from the story line itself, the writer has already planned FFXIII-2 when FFXIII was on-going, so it is safe (at the moment) to say that the massive 'chapter' is already been carefully planned too. Also, DLC was not intended  to complete the story, but rather expanding the gameplay (reference)! So, if they're willing to complete what's left in another game or even an EPIC full CG movie, BRING IT ON!!! -fanshouts-
Let's get on with the main discussion then! ^^

Square Enix will be making an important announcement on the 1st of September this year, what will it be? The "Lightning Saga"?

....nevertheless, over on Square Enix’s official Facebook Page they have teased a Final Fantasy 13-related announcement with a picture and a brief blurb. The image simply features a pack of dark clouds and the phrase “A Storm Gathers,” while the announcement says, “On 1st September, at an event in Tokyo to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of FINAL FANTASY, key members of the FINAL FANTASY XIII dev team will present more about the new direction of the ‘Lightning Saga’.”
